Main Purpose

We are looking to recruit six Regulatory & Licensing Enforcement Apprentices to join our Licensing & Public Protection Service.

The posts are two year fixed term apprenticeships where the post holders will gain a Regulatory Compliance Officer level 4 qualification whilst working in a supported environment to develop skills and knowledge to become competent in the role.

The post holders will:

Undertake enforcement duties in connection with the licensing of hackney carriage/private hire drivers, vehicles & operators & to ensure compliance with all terms & conditions relating to the licence.

Undertake licensing and regulatory enforcement duties across a full range of the regulatory and licensing service provision including entertainment and alcohol, business and street trading, highways and trading standards as required by the City Manager.

Due to the nature of the role applicants must commit themselves to reasonable out-of-hours work/shift work, for which appropriate overtime/allowances will be available in line with City Council policies.
