Good Energy now employs around 300 people in the historic market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire.

About the role

Reporting to the Regulation and Compliance Manager, as Regulatory Affairs Officer you will be responsible for ensuring Good Energy is well-prepared for forthcoming regulatory change, as well as contributing to and influencing the policy-making process where appropriate. In essence, you will be the regulatory eyes and ears of Good Energy. You’ll maintain an up-to-date view of proposed reform and future developments in the industry highlighting key areas to the business.

Working with internal stakeholders you’ll facilitate the development and refinement of the company position on evolving industry matters and support the representation of the company’s interests to external stakeholders in relevant forums. You will also be responsible for monitoring industry issues, assessing how these might impact Good Energy, and raise any risks and opportunities with relevant teams in the business.

You’ll also engage and build relationships with Good Energy’s trade associations ensuring that their activities and messaging are aligned with our interests.

About You

You’ll be degree qualified, or with equivalent experience, and have previous experience working in a similar role. You’ll be able to demonstrate experience of interpreting proposed regulatory and policy changes, and establishing business requirements and commercial priorities to reform whilst considering the related risks. You will be confident collaborating with and influencing key stakeholders and will have experience of drawing out relevant information whilst maintaining professional integrity.

You can escalate issues in a timely fashion, supported by data where possible to provide commercially considered and pragmatic recommendations. You are someone with experience of managing relationships with multiple external stakeholders (OFGEM, BEIS, EnergyUK etc), ensuring relationships are well-maintained and mutually beneficial.
