Registered Nurses

Posted 20 June by Hyphen Recruit

Our Client St Mary’s Hospital NHS Trust on the Isle of Wight are looking for numerous Staff Nurses. Ranging from Intensive Care to Clinical Oncology. Whilst St. Mary’s is indeed in special measures, with the new Chief Executive Maggie Oldham onboard and her experience of turning hospitals around, this is sure to be an exciting adventure to be a part of.

The Isle of Wight is one of the most diverse places in the UK with something for everyone.

With its low crime level and easy accessibility, it is a fantastic place to bring up children at a more relaxed pace of life. Nowhere is more than an hour’s drive away and there are more than enough activities to please even the most discerning.

Music festivals are alive and well here on the sunny Isle and we are fortunate to host both the Isle of Wight Festival as well as numerous jazz, world music and blues weekends. The Island has welcomed David Bowie, The Who, The Foo Fighters and the Rolling Stones to name but a few and these events bring tens of thousands of visitors to enjoy all that the Island has to offer.

There are 500 miles of footpaths, 30 miles of coastline and award-winning beaches to explore so there are no excuses for not getting out and about to get fit and see some stunning scenery! There are also numerous golf courses including the 9-hole course at historic Osborne House and the spectacular course overlooking Freshwater Bay.

For foodies we have award winning restaurants and some of the best pub grub around. There are the Garlic and Sweetcorn Festivals which not only feature a diverse range of foods and drinks but have entertainment for all the family. Children are also very well catered for with Britain’s oldest theme park- Blackgang Chine as well as Robin Hill Country Park and the Isle of Wight Zoo and Tiger Sanctuary to enjoy.

As well as all these activities, the Island has a very artistic leaning. We have a flourishing amateur and professional acting scene, art galleries, theatres, comedy clubs and arts centers and play host to the Ventnor Fringe as well as the Literary Festival which attracts authors from around the world. For a relatively small island, we like to think that we’ve got everything covered!

When it comes to visiting family and friends, the Solent has become easier and faster to cross in recent years. If you don’t need a car then you can take the hovercraft from Ryde and be in Southsea in less than 10 minutes whilst other services offer a good variety of options for both vehicle and foot passengers with offers and discounts for residents in the quieter months of the year.

The post holders will be RGN/ RMN/RNLD with skills from Intensive care, acute internal, clinical oncology, Psychiatry and A&E.

The Trust is looking for innovative, motivated and enthusiastic Nurses ready to deliver compassionate and high-quality skills to patients and families who might find themselves in crisis.

Our clients group is diverse, and you will need a good level of differing knowledge, be able to make decisions and show sound effective communication.

You will be expected to work a mixture of early and late shifts. The Trust can provide a comprehensive Preceptorship package for newly qualified RMN’s and have opportunities for experienced staff to undertake specialist link roles of interest and develop their clinical skills to enhance career progression.

Due to this position being permanent, we are looking for you to relocate if you do not already live here.

As an Island based agency, we are offering an all-expenses paid trip to the Island - we will meet you from the boat and show you how beautiful this Island really is. With amazing views in every direction, from beaches to beautiful countryside and not to forget regular music festivals, a tasteful dining scene, all just 2 hours by boat and rail to London!
