Registered Nurse - Health and Well-being Advisor role

We have an interesting role as a Health and Well-being Advisor, for somebody who is a Registered Nurse and who is looking for a weekday part time role (33 hours per week). You'll be working for a housing and care provider and will be responsible for running a clinic where the residents can attend for health and well-being checks.

On offer is an attractive salary of £24,000 - £27,600 depending on experience, pension, free village gym membership, life assurance, cycle2work scheme, childcare vouchers, high street discounts and more.

The Health and Well-Being Advisor Role (Must be a Registered Nurse)

You will be based on a large retirement village for over 55's and will be responsible for promoting the health and well-being of older people. You'll be offering numerous screening and health-promotion sessions, drop-in sessions, developing self-help groups and introducing traditional and alternative therapies.

You'll also link in to their fitness and exercise programmes and restaurant / catering services to promote informed choices about diet and exercise.

You'll carry out;

  • Well-being assessments that incorporate key areas from the government's public health documents, including the prevention of falls.
  • Osteoporosis and diabetes risk screening. Referral of anybody with a high-risk score to their GP.
  • Follow up sessions to determine the outcome of advice given /referral made.
You'll deliver information and advice sessions about key health issues such as osteoporosis, breast awareness, heart disease and liaise with voluntary groups.

Maintain accurate records and input data onto the well-being matrix.

You'll work 33 hours per week Monday - Friday. My client are flexible to the times / days worked.

The Successful Candidate

It is ESSENTIAL that you are a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. We will not be able to consider applicants who do not meet this criteria.

You'll be able to work autonomously and manage your own time.

You'll be able to work effectively and in conjunction with key members of staff such as head chef, General manage, fitness instructor, Locksmiths, activity coordinator etc.
