Our client are seeking a registered manager for a brand new set up, this would be to manager a provision of a therapeutic fostering and social work service, would be specifically for EBD children. This role would expect you to lead a dedicated team of staff, who are child-centered in their approach and values-led in their practice.

The Successful Candidate:

A dynamic leader - someone who is tenacious and passionate for the care and support of Young People.

  • To carry out negotiations on behalf of the agency with placing authorities regarding the placement of children and ensure that all agreements relating to the placement are completed and adhered to.

  • To undertake and carry out contract tenders and procurements locally and nationally as required, alongside the business development team.

  • To manage and supervise social workers, support workers and independent Form F assessors.

  • To ensure that the Fostering Services Regulations of 2002 & updated regulations 2011, the Care Standards Act 2000 along with the National Minimum Standards for Fostering are implemented, together with the Agency’s own policies and procedures.

  • To develop and implement a Quality Assurance policy and to work within the quality assurance team to ensure all Service Standards are complied with and exceeded.

  • To be responsible for managing the recruitment, assessment and training of staff and foster carers and ensure foster carers are fully supported and supervised.

  • To ensure that annual reviews of foster carers are undertaken.

  • To ensure that the relevant management and IT systems are used and maintained ensuring training is gained as and when required

  • To allocate case loads to social workers and ensure they provide the appropriate supervision and support to foster carers.

  • To supervise the work of the social workers employed by the agency.

  • To organise and attend team meetings on a regular basis.

  • To prepare reports for the Board of Directors, and attend Board of Directors’ meetings as required.

  • To ensure that the service provided reflects the outcomes listed in 'Every Child Matters’.

  • To ensure that records of placements are maintained as required by the Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and the National Minimum Standards for Fostering.

  • To carry out all necessary preparation for OFSTED inspections in order to ensure that the service consistently achieves a minimum of good or outstanding ratings at all times.

  • To serve as the external face of the company, present a good image and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Any other duties commensurate with the level and grade of the post and consistent with its overall purpose.

  • To implement and manage a therapeutic foster care agency including the internal and external therapeutic training of staff and foster careers.
