We are currently seeking an experienced individual to take charge of a picturesque care home on the Isle of Skye, this particular service has been consistently highly rated in recent Care Inspectorate Ratings. This position consists of a normal 40 hour week and in return for your time you will be eligible for a generous salary of £35,000.

You will be expected to:

      Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organisation.

Be involved in new service development to meet the needs in your locality.

Deputise for the Head of Service if required.

Have overall management and supervisory responsibilities for all staff in the Unit.

Be responsible for personnel management including; recruitment, selection and retainment: including implementation of staff terms and conditions and absence management.

Ensure relevant policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.

In conjunction with the Head of Service, evaluate and implement where necessary, requirements from Care Commission reports.

Through supervision you will identify any training needs to enable you to perform to the required standard of a service manager.


      Relevant experience of running a care home

Ideally you will possess an SVQ Level 4 in Social Care or equivalent

You will also be required to hold a Management Qualification or working towards as per the SSSC guidelines.

Good leadership skills with the ability to; coach, guide, supervise, teach and role model staff

Good level of IT skills - Outlook (email and calendar), word, excel

Excellent interpersonal skills; active listening, negotiation, assertiveness, negotiation, decision making, social awareness
