Our client is a family run business, creating a family home for children running through the centre. They started the business back in 2005, recognizing the need for well supported flexible housing options for care leavers who ranged from as young as sixteen and as old as eighteen. Of course nowadays, that age range can go up to 23 years and on occasion older.

They identify appropriate housing for young people and provide a needs led service through individual and specific plans. This plan is created by consultation with the young person and their Local Authority worker. It will form the basis of focused work with the young person, so that they can improve their confidence and independence skills.

They further recognize that some young people may have experienced a number of placements breakdowns and that they may have complex needs, as a result of this, we provide both support and a period of stability to allow them to mature so that they begin to take responsibility for themselves. The individual work appears to look very formal, but we attempt to make it interesting, accessible and as much fun as possible.

The company currently has 4 services for children, 2 leaving care and 2 residential homes. All homes are decorated with that family feel and are created with love and understanding for what a child is looking for in their safe haven.

Since our early years, we have developed services for children at “Osbourne House”, our 4 bedded Residential Children’s home. We have also developed a service for adults with learning difficulties. We are constantly looking for new ways to support children, young people and adults.

The Core Responsibilities will be:

Contribute to the successful OFSTED registration of the home and yourself alongside the Managing Director
To lead on the opening of the home, recruitment, systems, policies and process with the support of the Managing Director (RI)
To support the submission of framework applications to local authorities and arrangement of contracts
To create and shape a team that will deliver excellent outcomes to the children and Young People and ensure the values of the company are maintained
To organise, arrange and deliver training and induction to the team in a way that ensures competency
To lead on the identification and assessment of potential children/young children to the home ensuring that we can meet their needs and that the mix of the children is compatible to them all making progress.
To sustain and maintain an excellent service that meet regulatory requirements and delivers excellent outcomes for children.
To ensure the highest level of safeguarding in both recruitment, staff management and children and young people events. You will have a high understanding and proficiency in 'children missing from care protocols' and be accountable for ensuring these are followed.
Essential Qualifications and experience:

Level 5 Leadership and Management
2 years as a registered manager
Experience in working with children in a residential care setting.

Desirable Qualifications and experience:

5 years within a Residential Children's Home setting
Working with Girls who are vulnerable to CSE within Residential Children's Home setting
Additional courses and qualifications in childhood trauma, psychology, social work and/or CSE
OFSTED Registration of a new Residential Children's Home

You will be a unique individual who has a minimum 5 years experience in Residential Children's Homes or services and in addition a minimum of two years as a Registered Manager with at least a 'good' in your past two inspections.

You will also have a passion for the healing and recovery of children with these troubled life experiences and be able to shape the service and vision during the initial registration with OFSTED alongside the Managing Director/Responsible Individual.
