Registered Children's Home Manager

On behalf of my client we are recruiting for a Registered Children's Home Manager to join their organisation in the Birmingham Area. As the manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of running the home. To work as a member of the unit team to provide young people with the necessary support, care and guidance within the residential setting. To act as a positive role model in a professional, parenting capacity whilst sharing this responsibility (supplementing where necessary) with the young person's own family.

You must have direct work or involvement with children as a paid worker, volunteer or carer. Have 3 years experience working with children in the last 5 years and at least 1 year at senior level. You must also have supervision or management experience.

You must have understanding of child development & children's physical & emotional needs. Understanding of community needs and the impact of social disadvantage. Understanding of different racial/cultural/ gender needs. Knowledge and understanding of good customer care. Knowledge of child development, children's home.

You will be responsible for the management, co-ordination and development of a quality service for young people accommodated within the home. To promote the practice of working in partnership with young people, their families, Colleagues and other agencies, in order to meet the needs of young people. To provide effective leadership by implementing organisational strategies, in order to enable objectives of The Home to be achieved. To promote team development and effective team working. Maximise the effectiveness of staff through motivation and development. To take the lead in setting standards and evaluating achievements; to take a proactive role in securing improvements in the quality of services within the home.

To take appropriate action to ensure that care plans are designed, implemented and reviewed, so that children's behaviour is managed, their health, social and emotional development is monitored and appropriate opportunities are made available to assist with cultural or spiritual needs.
