Marine Society and Sea Cadets are seeking to appoint a Regional STEM Coordinator, Marine Engineering Pathway to join our team. You will join us on a part time fixed term basis until 31st March 2022 and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,000 Gross per annum (£22,400 pro rata).

Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

The Regional STEM Coordinator, Marine Engineering Pathway role:

We are currently seeking to appoint a Regional STEM Coordinator Marine Engineering Pathway (MEP) to continue to deliver Marine Engineering workshops in schools across Central, Northern London, the northern Home Counties, & the M11 & A1M Corridors, in order to raise awareness and interest in Marine Engineering as a potential career choice. You will also be involved in the ongoing development of the Marine Engineering Programme as part of this exciting project.

You will also play a key part in making Marine Engineering training more accessible to cadets and helping them understand how the skills they develop are aligned to RN and Maritime Careers.

This role is home based, and the POD will be stored at a local Sea Cadet unit when not in use. There will be significant travel across the London area and some trips to Head Office in London will be required.

What we’re ideally looking for in our Regional STEM Coordinator, Marine Engineering Pathway:

- A strong background in STEM and education

- Passion to inspire young people, particularly those who are currently under represented in the maritime sector

- Some teaching or training experience

- The ability to implement new and innovative training projects as part of the organisation’s strategic objectives

- A full driving licence with category BE is also required
