Regional Service Desk Technician

Reed are currently retained to work with Venator Corporation to recruit a Regional Service Desk Technician to join its growing team.

The job holder will participate and support in the day to day operations of the IT Services for the company’s facilities located in Wynyard, Greatham and Birtley.

The job holder will also act as the main contact between the sites and the wider IT organisation (with support from the Regional Service Desk Team Leader).

There is responsibility for end-to-end ownership for service requests and incidents as part of the Customer Service organisation, and they will work with remote support organisations, offering guidance and seeking updates as required.

Job responsibilities include:

? Providing desk side and remote IT support; with responsibility for the resolution of incidents and completion of service requests in a timely manner and within agreed service levels
? Maintaining operational responsibility for management of all IT support tickets which are assigned to the appropriate 'resolver groups’, through assessment of technical requirements
? Acting as the main support for site/company specific tools, providing overall guidance and management - from supporting the costing platform changes/upgrades through to end user configuration and management, ensuring all changes related to these platform follow agreed change management processes / procedures
? Being a single point of contact for external support teams during major incidents, for those sites and applications
? Defining work instructions for resolving incidents and works to transfer knowledge to other support teams where appropriate
? Ensuring that any required site server maintenance is performed (including management of data backup tapes and their secure offsite storage)
? Responsibility for IT security aspects and maintenance of the IT managed assets list
? Assisting the Regional Service Desk Team Leader where necessary, by providing additional support to remote Venator locations (within the UK). Potential locations for travel would include (but not necessarily limited to) Birtley, Kidsgrove and Sudbury

Candidate requirements:

? Degree qualified in an IT related field and / or equivalent experience
? A moderate level of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Technology Management
? Knowledge of ITIL with a broad technical background working with below technologies: Windows Domains / Active Directory / Internet / Hardware / Office 365 / MS Office / Windows 7 / Windows 10 / Lotus Notes / Storage / Network / Security / Bespoke Applications / Auto CAD / VOIP Telephony
? In addition to the above, the job holder will have excellent communication skills, ideally with prior experience working within a busy industrial / manufacturing environment although this is not essential
? Candidates will be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical users
