Regional HR Business Partner

Regional HR Business Partner £45k - £50k + car allowance + bonus + benefits

Our client, a leading utilities company covering Yorkshire and the North East, are now looking for a Regional HR Business Partner to join their existing team. Responsible for providing a broad-based generalist HR service to the business, this role reports to the Senior HRBP but has a strong focus on supporting the regional Operational Leadership Team and their subsequent teams as well as supporting other functions across the wider business. The role combines both projects and strategic development, with more generalist operational support.

Key accountabilities;

  • Supporting the regional Operational Leadership Team and other functions (customer group) to devise and implement HR Strategies and processes in line with company policies and legal requirements.

  • Ensuring effective planning, management and execution of organisational changes i.e. TUPE, restructures, right sizing, harmonisation of T&C’s & Organisational Design.

  • Ensuring robust succession planning is in place up to and including Senior Management team with plans being delivered to support business continuity.

  • Partnering with customer group and L&D specialist to identify and develop current and future talent, design Competency Based Frameworks/Development Plans as and when required, in line with overall company frameworks.

  • Partnering with the Resourcing team to ensure the effective implementation of workforce planning and resourcing strategies across the customer group, in line with the overall approach.

  • Partnering with Reward to ensure fair and consistent application of Company’s reward and recognition programs.

  • Providing guidance and advice to customers on complex employee relation matters and effectively support with any employee/industrial relations issues, which may arise.

  • Championing employee engagement - coaching the leadership in order to develop excellence in this area in line with the citizenship model.

  • Playing a pivotal role in the wider HR team in sharing best practice, developing HR Advisors, up-skilling and acting as the co-ordinator of various HR wide responsibilities.

  • Supporting the customer group to develop and drive an effective performance management culture through performance reviews, development plans and leading by example.

    To be successful in this role, you will possess the following;

  • HR Generalist with multi-site experience.

  • Extensive knowledge of appropriate employment legislation.

  • Trade Union experience.

  • Knowledge of working within a HR Business Partnering/Shared Service Model.

  • Management of customer and stakeholder relationships - driving to exceed expectations.

  • Experience of interpreting and using Management Information to make sound decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills - with the ability to energise and gain support from others.

  • Solid decision-making skills with the ability to understand and interpret complex data.

  • Capable of supporting multi-discipline teams to deliver business requirements.

  • Experience in managing multiple projects whilst maintaining support for business as usual.

The role will geographically cover Cumbria - North Tyne - Sunderland - Middlesborough. Therefore it is essential that candidates live in an area easily accessible to all these locations. There will also be travel to the Head Office in Leeds on a regular basis.
