Regional HR Advisor - Inchcape UK (South/East)

The Inchcape Retail UK HR team provide a number of services to support employees across the business.

Purpose

The Regional HR Advisor is responsible for providing advice, guidance and training to managers and colleagues within sites.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance, coaching and support, both remotely and physically, on all Employee relations issues involving employees up to Line Manager level, in respect of the following;

• Disciplinaries up to and including dismissal

• Grievances

• Probationary reviews

• Absence management, both short term and long term

• Performance management.

• Family friendly queries.

• Consultation and Redundancy

• Flexible working requests

Provide advice and guidance on any general issues, eg contractual obligations, terms and conditions, policies etc,
Ensure that all correspondence sent to employee in relation to the above meets minimum standards/legal obligations, whether written by managers or HRA
Participate in HR and/or business projects, to support business priorities, including assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures, to support the business areas, ensuring compliance with current and forthcoming legislation
File all letters and meeting notes and update the employee relations case log electronically on the HR Payroll system (Cintra)
Deliver HR Management training courses and provide Employment lifecycle training for Line Managers as appropriate.
Update policies and procedures as required
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with HRBPs, providing updates on cases, and advising of potential issues arising, and also a weekly written case update
Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of relevant employment law in order to carry out the role effectively

Core skills and experience required

Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards Level 5/7
Some generalist experience, ideally gained in a retail industry or equivalent
Ideally will have experience in a regional HR role, and be prepared to travel as required within their Region, including occasional overnight stays
Experience managing a high volume of ER cases
Proven communication, coaching and influencing skills
Ability to work on own initiative and largely unsupervised, as well as part of a small team
Organised, self-confident and enthusiastic
Current valid driving licence as traveling to our Retail Centres is a frequent aspect of the role
