The NHS Long-Term Plan calls for a step change in multi-professional advanced practice requiring capacity to be built at national, regional and local system level, e.g. in Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs)/Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) or ‘faculties’ to drive change.

Health Education England's Midlands region is looking for an inspirational leader for the post of Regional Faculty Lead for Advancing Practice. This is one of several vacancies across HEE regionally to provide an interface between HEE’s new national Centre for Advancing Practice and the local system. (The Centre has been established to standardise routes into advanced practice, accredit advanced practice programmes and recognise registered health and care practitioners who demonstrate prerequisite capabilities in advancing practice).

This is a high-profile leadership role requiring a passion for and detailed understanding of the multi-professional, multi-speciality advanced level practice agenda and an appreciation of the spectrum of roles in addition to sound programme management expertise.

You will drive the advancing practice agenda regionally and sub-regionally, actively promote advanced practitioners as part of local workforce solutions and be responsible and accountable for the development of the ‘virtual’ Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice and successful delivery of its objectives.

You will be a self-motivated change agent with excellent attention to detail, a natural ability to build strong and effective multi professional partnerships, plan, be keen to apply and grow your excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels. Successful delivery is dependent on collaborative working so the ability to demonstrate strong communication skills and develop enduring stakeholder relations across the health and care system is essential.

Educated to Master’s level and a healthcare registrant, you will be able to demonstrate a robust understanding of advancing practice and be able to evidence strong organisational and budgetary skills.

The postholder will report to the Midlands Regional Director.

The post will be based in one of HEE's Midlands regional office (Westbridge Place, Leicester or St Chads Court, Birmingham), and under normal circumstances will require frequent travel throughout the region and sometimes nationally.

This is a permanent post and is being offered at Band 8c with a full-time starting salary of £61,777. Applicants will start at the bottom of the salary scale although previous experience on this pay scale may be taken into consideration. Salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions of Service and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to the annual cost of living review.
