Your new company are one of the largest manufacturers in the world producing parts for the automotive industry.  Supplying to all of the major automotive manufacturers, my client works closely with their customers throughout the design stage of new vehicles through to final design (NPD) and supply's on mass production.

Your new role as Commodity Manager will take ownership for Die Castings covering the Central and Western Europe region and will deliver significant savings against a spend of circa £50M. 

Your new role will be a challenging position in a fast paced environment working on multiple and simultaneous projects. 

You will manage all purchasing activities within your commodities portfolio, conducting research and trend tracking raw material costs.

You will source suppliers that will deliver quality, on-time and cost effective products with a key focus on contributing to the procurement teams savings target.

Your new role will be responsible for;

Supporting local and regional procurement activities
Developing commodity sourcing strategies and gaining approval from board level stakeholders to implement and execute.
Manage sourcing / purchasing activities for a programme of projects
Tracking cost reduction programmes
Prepare RfQ's and evaluate responses for your commodities (production, tooling, etc)
Review existing supplier contracts, analysing pricing structures and other commercials.
Sourcing new suppliers
Negotiating and placing contracts with new suppliers that are consistent with global and regional strategies.

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of Commodity Management within procurement,  sourcing and purchasing die castings and/or other engineered commodities e.g. injection moldings.

You will have a stable career where you have been able to fully own a commodity portfolio from start to finish and develop your own strategies and deliver them in full.

Essential to this role is a proven background of delivering savings and backing this up with numbers.

You will have in-depth knowledge of production manufacturing processes and the ability to analyse and determine your suppliers cost to manufacture.  

You will ideally have experience sourcing suppliers of Die Castings products, however commodities such as injection moldings will also be considered.

The successful candidate will also display dynamic and ambitious characteristics who candidate the ability to quickly take hold of a commodity portfolio and start to deliver in a short space of time.

The role will require international travel
