I could write a flowery advert telling you my client is the best in the business, with unrivalled career prospects operating from state of the art offices and you will make more money than you can spend.
Truth be told I am not sure such businesses exist.
So, here it is in real terms –
My client is a well established business, established for more than a couple of decades, their offices are in the City Centre, decent place to work.
The top man is a decent guy, been around recruitment for years and years so knows his stuff.
They have a good reputation with most people (can’t please all of the people all of the time – right?).
Pretty loyal staff but as with all recruiters they have attrition – to be fair less than most.
Working a very busy trades and labour (construction) temp desk, fast moving. Problem solving, juggling many balls, dropping some from time to time no doubt.
You need to sell; this is not a resourcing role, they are busy but no-one can afford to stand still or take the current business for granted – not in construction anyway, so they need someone who knows the Glasgow (and surrounding areas) construction scene, understands subbies, main agents and their demands. A recruiter who can win business, service, retain, find trades, get them working, keep them working.
Someone who does not just promise the goods but who delivers on that promise and that means rolling your sleeves up to find staff when the going gets tough (there is great resourcing support).
Basic of around £25,000, could be persuaded to pay more for more experience, there is good commission to be earned based on your GP (that’s profit not your doctor).
Is this a “sideways” move for most? – probably.
Sometimes moving sideways is not a bad thing, being stuck in the same role for years can be unhealthy, your career stagnates, you become robotic, you turn up and function but that’s about it.
A new role could invigorate you, get you motivated again, open up new opportunities
