What you will be doing

As a Senior Recovery Worker, you will be based in one of 3 community houses, providing supported living in the community for service users stepping down from Three Valleys Hospital or other mental health services

We focus on developing life skills and rebuilding confidence, enabling everyone to progress into independent living at a pace that suits them. Most people living here have moved on from Three Valleys Hospital, where their recovery has progressed to the point where they are ready to return to living in a community setting.

The service is staffed 24 hours a day by qualified and experienced mental health teams, supported by Three Valleys Hospital multi-disciplinary team, which includes a consultant psychiatrist, occupational therapist, psychology team and nursing staff.

Duties include:

  • Assistant service users with their day to day activities
  • Contributing to individual recovery journeys
  • Promoting independence and empowerment
  • Writing and updating care plans
  • Promoting activities and supporting service users with in-house and community based rehabilitation

The role involves lone working, medication administration and contributing to CPA’s, therefore some previous knowledge and experience is required.

Where you will be working

Location: 1 Towngate Close, Guiseley, Leeds, LS20 9PQ

You will be working at Spring Wood Lodge, a service that supports women over the age of 18 who have complex emotional and mental health problems associated with significant risk behaviors. Typically they have a diagnosis of personality disorder or a severe mental illness.

A multidisciplinary team work together to develop personalised, recovery focused programmes within the hospitals care pathways. By adopting an enabling approach and social care model, the team can support service users to achieve and maintain optimum functioning and place high emphasis on maximising their quality of life and prevent re-admission to acute services.

They may not have had their needs met in a general psychiatric service including acute inpatient units, community mental health teams or community personality disorder service. Working as part of a team, you will focus on active rehabilitation to achieve sustainable discharge.

Situated in the semi-rural area of Steeton and Cowling, with easy access to Three Valleys Hospital and excellent transport links to the surrounding area, the houses are ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the local community.

  • Hold NVQ Level 2 or equivalent GCSE/O Levels and above
  • Previous experience in a care environment, preferably at a senior level

You may also:
