RAC Service Patrol - Reading

Posted 24 January by RAC Featured Ended

Job Description

By joining our team you will be part of an incredible success story, one of the UK`s most trusted brands and an integral member of the core business of RAC. Being the oldest motoring organisation we have a rich history of leading the way and that continues today with our state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, computer technology and comprehensive tool kits.

Role Purpose

As a skilled automotive technician you will encounter a wide range of vehicle-related breakdowns and you will be motivated by ensuring we continue to fix at least 4 out of 5 cars at the roadside - Your mechanical and diagnostic skills will be the key factor to ensuring we keep motorists moving.

No two days will be the same; with a variety of different faults to fix and meeting a wide diversity of people (even celebrities, as they breakdown too).

You will be the face of RAC and you will be the one who can not only fix the breakdown, but also bring a sense of relief and calmness to what can be a stressful situation.

This role is not like working in a garage, completing job card after job card without seeing the satisfaction of the customer you have just helped - you will be out there at the roadside, providing first class customer service and seeing the relief and gratitude on people`s faces when you fix the breakdown - also do not be surprised if the public want to take your photo and thank you across social media. You will become a true ambassador of the RAC.

What will you receive from us?

Naturally not only do you get the freedom of being out on the road, getting great satisfaction from meeting our members and repairing their vehicles, but you will also:

-Have your own RAC Service Patrol van for work

-Have no wasted time or the cost of commuting to your office (your van will be outside your front door)

-Not have to worry about buying your own tools - you will be provided with the comprehensive & advanced RAC tool kit

-Enjoy the variety of not working a standard 9-5 shift

-No daily stress about what to wear to work - you will get your own RAC Uniform (suitable for all weather conditions)

-Highly competitive basic salary with a great opportunity to earn more. Our colleagues are earning £35,000-£40,000 with our highest earning in excess of £80,000 per annum - there is no limit to what you can earn

-Receive fantastic training. Not only will you have a comprehensive induction but you will have on-going development with access to all of the latest vehicle technology

-Be provided with first class support from other RAC Service Patrol colleagues out on the road and from a team of technical experts at our Head Office

-Have access to a broad range of career progression opportunities; you could develop your career into team management, training or even into other business areas if you fancy a new career direction

-Be rewarded with additional benefits including pension, life cover, a generous holiday entitlement, breakdown cover for you and your household and also access to a comprehensive Flexible Benefits Scheme so you can tailor the benefits to suit your lifestyle.
