Medical Devices Manufacturer based in Cambridge seeks an experienced R&D Technician.

Primary Role:

Under the direction of members of the R&D team:

  • To implement and carry out testing of products, prototypes and concepts, utilising the most appropriate and effective methods
  • To assist in the analysis of test results
  • To assist in other research, development and production activities
  • Operation of metrology microscope for wafer inspection and incoming part metrology
  • Ensure all work is carried out according to Health and Safety Policy

Other Roles:

  • To help develop inspection protocols for incoming parts
  • To assist in the automation of the wafer inspection process
  • Participation in team and other meetings when required
  • Maintain good laboratory practice
  • Ensure safe working practice
  • Train other staff where appropriate

  • Good written and spoken communication skills

  • Good experimental and practical skills;

  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with scientific instrumentation

Education:

  • Science or engineering based diploma or degree or at least 3-years relevant experience

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a production or research role is desirable
  • Experience of working with medical devices an advantage
  • Experience of taking on technical projects, at work, school or as hobbies a plus
