My client, a local authority based in South Wales is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
This is a full time, temporary ongoing contract and the successful candidate will have a professional qualification in Quantity Surveying and experience working within Housing & Local Authorities.

The main purpose of the role is to generate work packages for the client's tendering process.

Responsibilities will include the following;

Providing quantity surveying and estimating services for internal and external schemes to ensure the best use of available resources.
Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
Performing risk, value management and cost control.
Advising on technical aspects of procurement strategy.
Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
Assist the Project Manager in the creation and maintenance of a schedule of rates. These are the core documents utilised for the control and expenditure of the WHQS implementation program.
Providing advice on contractual claims.
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
