Freelance Quantity Surveyor

Your new company
Our client is a successful construction and civil engineering contractor who are currently looking to take on a freelance Quantity Surveyor for an interim assignment. This company operates nationally, and is a well-established organisation, with a great pipeline of work.

Your new role
Located in Blyth you will be working on the North Sea Link project for 46 weeks starting in April. This will be a site based role, and you will be responsible for commercial aspects of the project, from negotiations with clients and sub-contractors - through to final account. You will also be required to estimate price of materials, take-offs, valuations and variations.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, as well as previous experience / skills in the following areas:

  • Commercial experience in a client facing role
  • Estimating experience (take off / rate build up)
  • Negotiation of tender packages
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Packages

This role will also require the successful candidate to be a team player, motivated and professional in their attitude towards work.
