Hays are delighted to present you with an exciting opportunity to secure a permanent position as a Quantity Surveyor with a growing medium sized contractor based in Belfast. Your new company has built an enviable reputation within the local construction industry for the delivery of bespoke, high quality projects over a wide and varied range of construction sectors. They offer a wide range of services including New Build Construction, Refurbishment, Property Development, Interior Fit-Out and much more. Our client has secured a strong pipeline of work going forward and now requires a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
Your new role
You will be responsible for providing Quantity Surveyor functions including chasing up competitive quotes as well as commercial reporting and cash flow management on allocation projects. You will work within an integral part of the business, reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and working closely with the Operational Team, ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within budget. Correspondence on a daily basis with site manager, subcontractors, suppliers, statutory authorities and members of design team will be required to ensure correct and up to date information has been issued to the site manager and relevant subcontractors. You will be predominately office based in County Antrim, travelling to site in the UK once a fortnight.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a degree educated in Quantity Surveying, and must have at least 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor. Experience of working on build projects will be necessary. You will be computer literate, and will have experience of using relevant software. You will be ambitious, commercially astute, and keen to establish yourself as a Quantity Surveyor with an established main contractor who will be offering you a long-term view.
