A thriving and highly respected regional contractor is recruiting for three additional Quantity Surveyors to join their Projects team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be working on a variety of projects ranging from £2million to £15million as part of a successful team.

This award-winning family owned business has an exceptional reputation for delivering successful projects for key clients in the education, leisure and private residential sectors.

This is a great opportunity to join a business who pride themselves on their friendly approach and have a strong social ethos in their Oxford office. They operate with a very strong commercial team and an ever-increasing order book dictates a need to increase resource immediately with three experienced Quantity Surveyors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Select and place orders with sub-contractors for necessary packages of work, liaising with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager.
  • Ensure that sub-contract orders and professional appointments are documented properly and in a timely manner.
  • During the project, check accounts submitted by sub-contractors ensure payments are raised and that any necessary contractual notices are in place with sub-contractors, consultants and suppliers.
  • Agree schedule of valuation dates with the customer. Ensure that contract valuations are submitted so as to obtain timely issue of certificates.
  • Keep a record of dates for valuations, issue of certificates and receipts of payments on the project.
  • Ensure that all variations are priced and agreed progressively throughout the contract to enable the final accounts to be agreed as close as possible to practical completion of the project.
  • Attend pre-commencement meeting and ensure that all relevant information is transferred from the estimators to the project team selected for the project.
  • Attend regular review and control meetings with the management team.
  • Advise the Commercial Manager of any disputed items or potential issues as soon as they arise
  • Submit financial reports (including the monthly project reviews) in line with reporting timetable.
