Small Works Projects and larger Tendered Projects up to £1m in value

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the Commercial Manager in a successful and expanding contractor business in Hampshire.
This role will involve checking surveys, scheduling, measuring, costing and placing orders on day to day small works projects as well as dealing with larger tendered projects (ranging from £1k up to about £1m individually). Putting together prices/tenders for proposed larger works projects and then assisting in the management of these projects once won.
Job role and responsibilities
Working with the Commercial Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will be:
- Undertaking contract administration for private domestic property repair works
- Managing the day to day surveying and financial progress of each project
- Issuing instructions, placing orders and dealing with pricing variations
- Processing valuations and payments
- Costing exercises and comparison analysis
- Agreeing final accounts
- The preparation of tenders for larger works projects
- Preparing monthly reporting for cash flow scheduling & costing
- Liaison with sub-contractors, homeowners, internal departments and clients
What skills/experience will you need?
For this role you will need to have solid Quantity Surveying experience and ideally a relevant qualification (or currently studying to obtain one). You will need to have knowledge of contract & construction law, industry regulations and best practices. You will need to be organised, adaptable, the ability to remain calm under pressure, be confident in managing multiple projects and keeping records of the progress and correspondence throughout the process.
You will need to have excellent time management and both written & verbal communication skills, confidence in IT/PC use (bespoke system training will be provided) and you will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and have the ability to build good working relationships both internally and externally of the company.
In addition to the salary (negotiable depending upon experience around £40-50k) you will receive a pension, generous holiday allowance, private healthcare and there is a discretionary bonus paid quarterly.
