Quantity Surveyor

Singh & Jones Ltd have partnered with a well-known Design, manufacturer and installation company of high end curtain walling, windows and doors, Specialising in high end commercial project for many years they have established themselves within the UK market and are known for using only the best regarded curtain walling systems within the industry. Our client has won many live projects throughout the UK and are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a Permanent basis.

With an excellent reputation in the facade industry and a forecast turnover of £10,000,000 this year. As an experienced Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will be;

Providing commercial support to Design and Contract Staff

Preparing valuations for interim application for payment including variations

Preparing final accounts and contra charges

Preparing sub-contract enquiries and order documentation

Remeasurement of Bills of Quantities

Preparing cost budgets and prices for contract variations

Preparing subcontract valuation and payment certificates

Preparation of contract claims information

Evaluating/selecting subcontract tenders

Checking material sizes and quantities for procurement

Setting up and maintaining contract files

Reporting of contract accounts

Ensuring contract cashflow is maintained

Preparing turnover and profit forecasts

Carry out tasks as assigned by the MD from time to time.

This will be in accordance with the level of training skills and abilities which the job holder has or indeed achieves. You will have a degree/HND or equivalent, ideally in Quantity Surveying. Have previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor for a specialist facade contractor, ideally in a related sector of the industry, i.e. roofing and cladding, glazing. You will have high standards of numeracy, oral and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate a capability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively and on own initiative.

Membership to a professional body is desirable not essential. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional seeking a new and rewarding challenge within a well-established and ambitious organisation with a plan to expand into new areas.
