My client are a well-established, and rapidly expanding Contractor who operate nationally. Currently specialising in Social Housing refurbishments, but also working in the private residential, Education & Commercial sectors, the company have gone from strength to strength each year and have an exciting growth plan in place for the coming years. They have a strong 3 year business plan, and are due to double their turnover by the end of the 3 years.
As a result of this expansion and growth, they are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis. This will be based from their offices in Wigan and will require some occasional travel to sites across the North West.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for:
" Preparation of bills and/or schedules for quantities of materials, labour and services required in the construction and refurbishment of building works in relation to both Estimating and Post contract duties.
" Preparation and valuation of progress and submission to client
" Sub-contract procurement including sending out enquiries, collating prices, negotiation, order placement
" Sub-contract valuations and payments in connection with any contract.
" Preparation of internal cost reporting measures.
" Advice when required on cost management, or value management.
" Maintaining quality control procedures.
" Health & Safety management.
" Undertaking all tasks in a timely fashion and as required by management.
" Ensure cash flow is maximised
The successful candidate must ideally be degree qualified, and have experience in the Social Housing sector.
In return for your skills, you will be offered a basic salary of £35-45k (depending on level and experience) + attractive package.
