Company profile for the Quantity Surveyor:

Our client is a trusted yet innovative construction and surveying consultancy and they are seeking a couple of extra people at various levels in their Quantity Surveying and cost management team in their business at this exciting point in their company's growth. Their services include; surveying, cost consultancy, project management and health & safety, and operate across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare etc. People are at the heart of their business, which is why they operate an open, honest and relaxed culture, whilst providing ongoing training, support and CPD across their business.

Duties for the Quantity Surveyor:

The chosen candidate will either build experience in the following duties or already have a range of experience in these areas.

*Preparation of cost plans and budget estimates
*Understanding of construction contracts
*Preparation of feasibility studies
*Preparing regulating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
*Valuing work completed on site and certifying payments
*Assessing value for money
*Undertaking risk assessments
*Undertaking the role of Project Manager and Employer's Agent
*Estimating cost variations
*Preparing cost reports and cash flows
*Life cycle costings
*Completing final accounts
*Administering JCT construction contracts and development agreements
*Preparation of Bill of Quantities

Skills and experience profile for the Graduate Quantity Surveyor:

*Ability to prioritise and manage several tasks or projects to deadline and/or budgets
*Excellent report writing and presentation ability
*Good communication skills, confident in meetings and able to contribute
*The desire to work under direction but able to use own initiative when required
*Competent use of IT and software packages
*Commercially aware and financially astute
*Strong organisation and time management skills
*Work effectively with colleagues and clients
*Willing to learn, be proactive, and contribute to the success of the Department

Package for the Quantity Surveyor:
Guide salary: £25,000 - 50,000 (depending on experience and position employed)
