Quantity Surveyor - Spalding

£ 35,000 + Salary dependant on experience - 44 hours per week.

My Client is an Irish Engineering Construction Company who have been established for 42 years and they provide Engineering solutions to Blue Chip Companies. They have worked on projects all over the world and they are a very friendly and supportive company to work in.

The main responsibilities for this role - Quantity Surveyor ( Chartered, 3 years + Quantity Surveying experience, Construction Industry experience, Valuations, Costings, Contract execution, Procurement, RICS Member )

This role is based at Gas Turbine in Spalding.

To assist the business by providing commercial support on projects, project control and contract execution, to ensure the recovery of contractual entitlement, recover cash in accordance with the contract, manage risks and opportunities, and ensure that projects are forecasted and reported accurately.

Review of contract documentation

Project control and contract execution

Preparing Cost/ Value reports for projects in liaison with operations including assessment of risks and opportunities

Preparing, submitting and negotiating interim and final accounts

Assisting finance team in preparation of internal monthly accounts including comparisons between project budgets & forecasts

Client liaison / attendance at meetings

Administration of variations, additional works and delay management

Commercial and operational support to ensure contractual notice requirements are met

Close working relationship with operations to ensure early identification and resolution of commercial/ performance issues

Dispute resolution including identification and preparation of variations and claims

Ensuring adequate records are kept in accordance with contractual requirements

Procurement, payment and management of subcontractors

Other ad-hoc duties as required

Skills required for this role - Quantity Surveyor ( Chartered, 3 years + Quantity Surveying experience, Construction Industry experience, Valuations, Costings, Contract execution, Procurement, RICS Member )

Educated to degree level in a Quantity Surveying or another relevant qualification with proven post qualification experience

Member of RICS

A full UK driving licence is required for this position

Experience in negotiations with clients and subcontractors

Experience of working on site projects within the engineering construction Industry

Experience of planning and executing projects

Excellent level of IT literacy in all areas of Microsoft Office, advanced level in Excel

Strong negotiation / influencing skills

Ability to work within a fast paced and high pressured environment

Ability to prioritise workload

Willing to put forward cost saving or process improvement efficiencies as they arise.

Flexible approach, particularly in regard to hours of work and travel

Tenacious and driven to succeed

Ability to communicate effectively at all times within the site team, client and subcontractors

Diligent and excellent attention to detail

Able to work effectively with other departments to achieve results
