A new job has arisen with a Chartered Surveying Practice in Dundee. This Practice has a great reputation, a number of key clients and high volumes of work, particularly in the housing sector. This workflow is generate mostly by client referrals due to the number of years this practice has operated successfully in the local area. They offer client services from the beginning of a project through to completion. They offer a range of disciplines and skills to the Construction and Property sector.
Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be required to work with Bills of Quantity, take measurements and acting as an Employers Agent, overseeing projects from concept to completion, by representing the client's interests. You'll supply clients with cost information during design development which will be used as the basis for on-site cost management. You'll offer value-engineering solutions and options for clients relating to the design, material, construction, procurement and programming of the specified project. You'll administer the contractual and commercial procedures, relating to payments, on site. This may include but is not exclusive to variations, change orders, notices and financial reporting.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll have post graduate experience, preferably with a cost consultancy although commercial Quantity Surveying experience will be considered. If you're not already Chartered, you'll have a desire to become Chartered and this practice will support the you through your APC. You'll be a very good communicator and display strong negotiation skills. You'll also have experience seeing projects through from concept to completion.
