Quantitative Researcher

Adecco have an exciting opportunity for a Quantitative Researcher for our client based in the beautiful Cathedral City of Exeter! Fancy an exciting role that shares elements of academic research (without all the endless Uni bureaucracy of dealing journal editors, funding applications etc.) enabling you to make a difference and mould a solid career?

The role:

You will be tasked with performing original statistical research whilst developing and testing models of financial markets (however, knowledge of the financial/investment market is not essential).

As part of the role you will develop advanced statistical and computational methods, and have the opportunity to work with massive data sets whilst keeping up to date with cutting-edge methods and technologies.

What our client needs is someone with fluency in programming in at least one language, such as Python or R, along with cleaning & modelling empirical data experience.

Qualifications and essential experience required:

*fluency in programming Python and/or R is a must
*Degree or PHD in a numerate subject with substantial statistical content
from a top-ranked university
*Proven ability to work autonomously on research projects
*Hands-on experience of organising, cleaning and modelling empirical data
*C++ programming would also be highly advantageous, but not essential
