Quality Technician (Engineer, Electromechanical, NCR, CAPA)

Quality Technician with hands-on practical experience of electro-mechanical equipmentrequired by world leading manufacturer of specialist high-tech low-volume electronic and electromechanical systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identification of failure modes in products and components from customers and production
  • Identifying effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Providing reports for customers and suppliers regarding product faults
  • Evaluation and correct disposition of non-conforming material
  • Examination and approval of sample components from suppliers
  • Completion of discrete projects, focussed on product and / or process improvement
  • Responding directly to non-conformance reports (NCRs) from subsidiary offices and agents and providing 'front-line’ support
  • Provide support to Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineers, including direct liaison with worldwide suppliers to implement corrective actions
  • Completion of discrete, supervised projects, focussed on product and / or process improvement
  • Assistance / cover for other department members as required

Experience and Key Skills

  • A sound grasp of electrical and mechanical engineering principles
  • Ideally experience of a manufacturing environment with electro / mechanical equipment
  • At ease working in both an office and factory environment and have a "hands on" approach
  • May have recently completed an engineering apprenticeship and / or have some post apprenticeship experience
  • Experience in the use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and / or CAD would be beneficial

Qualifications

HND/HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline
