Our client is an automotive 1st / 2nd tier supplier, a traditional well-established privately owned engineering company with sites across the Midlands.
They are involved in the batch manufacture of components for a number of OEMs across a number of sectors and are currently in a period of sustained organic and acquisitive growth.
They are seeking an experienced Quality professional for one of their production units in West Bromwich (B71 postcode) who can support the Quality Manager ensuring that they exceed all internal and external customer requirements through the development and guidelines of their Quality & Environmental Operating Systems.
As Quality Systems Engineer your key responsibilities will be -
Manage and maintain the company’s quality & environmental system.
New product introduction activities.
To continually challenge and improve our approach to Quality.
Support Metrology activities.
Actively promote quality system awareness.
Prepare and deliver audit programmes and reports
Investigation of quality problems and identifying sustainable solutions.
Assist the Quality Manager in metric reporting.
Build and maintain customer & supplier relationships.
Monitor and measure process and product performance.
Undertake and report on any statistical reports as required.
Conduct process / system audits and manage any non-compliance.
Receive and manage customer SQA representatives on-site.
Own and maintain process control plans.
Candidates should have -
Knowledge of current best practice in the Quality environment.
Knowledge and understanding of IATF16949 & ISO14001
Knowledge and understanding of metrology.
Extensive knowledge and experience of key quality tools, 8D, APQP, PPAP, MSA, PFMEA, SPC, Error Proofing & Control plans.
Candidates will be suitably qualified in an engineering discipline and have a proven track record within either a Tier 1, Tier 2 or OEM - we are particularly interested in candidates with a die-casting / foundry / plastic moulding, press work type background.
The company offers a base salary in a band £30 - £35,000 plus benefits.
