Our client, a well-established automotive manufacturer, seeks to appoint a Quality Manager from an automotive background to oversee their quality management system. The most important aspect of any candidate appointed will be a passion for engineering and a drive to implement change through a sound knowledge of TS16949 standards and processes. A mechanical engineering background could be advantageous but is not essential.

Leading a quality team of engineers, you will be able to make suggestions for future quality procedure improvements to drive standards up further in conjunction. As well as managing the quality system you will also be hands-on on a day-to-day basis. The successful Quality Manager will be confident and articulate and have previous experience of leading audits. It is essential you have implemented such processes as lean manufacturing within a previous quality role. Six sigma trained preferred but not essential.

* Qualified to HND level, degree preferred with a minimum of three years experience in a quality management role
* Confident carrying out internal audits and have been the lead contact for an external audit from a customer or external assessment body
* Competent in dealing with customer complaints and non-conformances
* Accomplished in the New Product Development process
* A capability of evolving the PLM process within the organisation
* An understanding of the concept of design and PPAP process awareness
