The core purpose of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Scotland. In support of this, we are committed to a range of programmes that will enhance the service provided to NHS Scotland in both clinical and operational areas.
The Quality Assurance Manager will primarily be responsible for providing expert advice and operational support on Quality and regulatory issues whilst coordinating aspects of the Quality Management System within the SNBTS blood bank sustainability project. The role has a broad area of responsibility encompassing blood banking, logistics and information systems.
Applications are invited from HCPC registered scientists who have significant experience of the operation of an effective Quality Management System in a blood establishment. Educated to at least Honours Degree level holding a post graduate professional qualification e.g. MSc. Demonstrable experience of risk management, change management, Incident management, Corrective and Preventative Action planning, root cause analysis and Quality auditing are essential requirements for this role.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Candidates must have current HCPC registration at the time of applying.
