The position will appeal to a hands-on quality professional with effective leadership experience, a disciplined and method-based approach to problem solving.
-Review and manage the company's quality management systems and procedures, standards and specifications
-Work with site-wide staff to conduct reviews of current procedures and where necessary introduce improvement recommendations
-Support external body accreditation and client audits
-Manage and conduct internal audit processes and oversee implementation of corrective actions
-Support purchasing and engineering organisations to ensure external supplier quality standards and procedures are clearly defined and adhered to, including where necessary site supplier audits
-Lead site-wide communication and awareness training in quality awareness and performance against external and internal quality targets and goals
-Manage the resources of the quality team to provide consistently high levels of service to associated engineering, manufacturing and purchasing departments
Skills and experience
Experience gained from working within a volume manufacturing environment is essential, ideally where regulation and negotiation of inspection protocols and acceptance criteria need to be defined and managed.
In addition our client is looking for candidates who can show evidence of the following skills:
-Good communication skills with an ability to connect at all levels of an organisation
-Organising and planning
-Numerical and statistical ability
-An aptitude for analysis
-Appreciation of other work disciplines, such as engineering and science.
-Ideally qualified to degree or HND level in a technical/engineering discipline.
-Training in Six Sigma and associated problem solving tools and techniques would be an advantage.
-Leadership and man-management skills.
