Quality Manager

An exciting opportunity for you to join an ever-expanding EPC construction business as a QA Lead on a Nuclear construction project in Sellafield.

As a QA Lead you will provide quality assurance oversight and inspection support for our clients project team by leading a broad range of QA required audits/Inspections including reviews of technical documentation and monitoring of the supply chain, verifying compliance and client requirements. 


- Undertake independent assessments of suppliers QA/QC programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements and the criteria defined in the clients quality/contract document.
- Participate in the development of an audit plan along with the scheduling / management and performance in carrying out internal quality audits and external supplier / sub tier Supplier assessment activities. Follow up of non-conformances and observations to closure.
- Review Installation Checklist documents, review ITP’s for installation works, review of package Life Time Records for acceptance and sign off of Quality Construction Completion documentation for the packages you are assigned to.
- Evaluate the quality of implementation of technical programs, effectiveness of corrective actions – whether they adequately address related issues / identified causes. Perform follow up verifications and provide recommendations for continual improvement – draft and publish audit / assessment lessons learned reports. 
- Audit the Quality Plan / Inspection and Test Plan sign off of actions by all onsite personnel and subcontractors. 
- Assist Package Managers in the compilation of Inspection documentation and the completion of all discipline Lifetime Record packages to reflect the agreed package LTR Index. 

Skills and Experience 

- Technical QA experience working in the Construction, Engineering or Nuclear industry.
- Experience managing a site based QA/QC team.  
- Extensive experience in the implementation of Quality Assurance on large Engineering / Construction Projects.
- Experience in mechanical piping systems, HVAC systems and mechanical equipment installation Inspections. 
- Working knowledge of nuclear quality assurance programs.
- Audit capability with accreditation to the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) 
- Qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Inspection or Construction discipline.
