About the role: 

Our client in Royston, Hertfordshire, has a vacancy for a Full time Quality Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical) to help them deliver their internal and external supplier performance improvement projects. This role is also responsible for providing Mechanical and Electrical Quality Assurance (Goods Inwards and Product Release). 

The post holder will be responsible for providing Quality Assurance support on Engineering projects; including conducting quality related production investigations and making improvement recommendations where appropriate. You will work closely with their supply chain to ensure supplier performance is monitored effectively. 

You’ll carry out Quality Assurance related Product and Process improvements identified and / or notified via the Non-Conformance Reporting tool Carry out any Quality related production investigations as requested. Ensure communication of engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams. 

About you: 

To be successful in this role you will need an Engineering Degree or technical equivalent; or extensive experience or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience with Mechanical / Electrical systems. 

Previous experience in similar Quality Assurance Engineer roles, ideally with small volume manufacturing companies is essential to the role as well as this you will have advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office, CAD drawing packages, Oracle experience preferred. An understanding of project management is required. 

Knowledge of various quality system methodologies 8D, Lean, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, etc is needed.
