Quality Engineer
Full time - Monday to Friday

Deeside - commutable from Holywell, Chester, Wrexham and Mold

£25,000 per annum

The Role

A Quality Engineer is required by an industry leading technology business who champion advanced quality standards for their sector. Reporting to the site Operations Manager, the appointed Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the products and services provided to customers are of the highest quality and meet legal compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regular auditing is carried out internally as required, ensuring adherence to company standards and compliance with business accreditations.
  • Continually monitor and report internal rejections and customer complaints, to instigate root cause and corrective action to promote waste reduction and continuous improvement.
  • Review and set Quality standards within the production area.
  • Ensure that all quarantine material obtains rework / disposal status within a specified time limit, managed through the stock database.
  • Further develop and administer the concession system, ensuring clear controls are in place to maintain and improve levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Review, investigate and resolve customer complaints, visiting the customer where necessary.
  • Review, update, maintain and improve the Quality documentation and Database.
  • Meet Quality Group Objectives.
  • Liaise with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers, including site visits for auditing and approval.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Quality Management or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of the application and development of processes to international management system standards including ISO9001: 2015
  • Training/education certificates related with ISO/quality or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the OHSAS18001 is desirable.
  • A background in technically engineered products would be beneficial.
  • The ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to present data effectively including within reports.
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • A working knowledge of lean tools e.g. six sigma, 8d and 5 why’s
