The company An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Technician to join the Quality Team at a food manufacturing client based in the West Midlands. The role will involve maintaining and improving customer and industry standards on their products through effective auditing. This is to ensure that they manufacture safe products to specification and that all appropriate factory processing paperwork is completed correctly and routinely. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to secure their first role in the food industry.
The role Key areas of responsibility:
Verify & monitor the production process according to the requirements of the Quality & Foods Safety Plan
Collect raw material, WIP and finished product samples for internal shelf life monitoring, microbiological, chemical and organoleptic assessments, following GLP. Ensure results are recorded appropriately and actioned as necessary
Undertake GMP and process audits and effectively communicating any potential issues
Audit production paperwork to verify that traceability is achieved throughout production, process, and accurate legible records are completed accordingly. Verification and filing of Production & QA records
Assist in the investigation of customer complaints, working with the production teams to identify root cause of issues Support and monitor the implementation of agreed corrective and preventative actions
Undertake raw materials and packaging intake checks to ensure compliance to specification, raising non conformance's where applicable
Collection, preparation and logging of samples for external laboratory testing, ensuring all specification results are actioned accordingly
The candidate Skills and experience:
QA or similar experience working within the food industry OR a food related degree
Awareness and basic understanding of food manufacturing systems, including HACCP and BRC
Internal auditing experience
Experience using MS Office
Ability to be flexible and work under pressure
Good communication skills
Food safety level 2 or Basic Food Hygiene
This role is working 4 on 4 off, 12 hours shifts 7pm - 7am
