Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance Manager

The exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Assurance professional to lead the QA and regulatory compliance agenda for Oxford Instruments NanoScience, enabling quantum technologies, new materials and device development in the physical sciences.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation of the business quality system to contribute to, and integrate with the organisation's business strategy

· Report to senior management on the performance and effectiveness of the Business Quality Management System and the need for improvements

· Provide leadership and guidance to a cross functional team of process owners within the business management system to ensure processes remain the most relevant and effective means of managing the business

· Act as a Consultant and Advisor to all applicable regulatory compliance for NanoScience and MagneticResonance products

· Develop and implement Quality KPIs across the business

· Establish audit system and maintenance of ISO 9001 (2015 standards) and other standards as applicable

· Provide leadership on OpEx frameworks and learning and development processes and supporting OpEx activities in accordance within targets, budgets and timescales

· Develop and implement a communication strategy to improve awareness, ownership and benefits of Quality and Continuous improvement culture across the entire company. Working closely with departmental management across the business, ensure that the highest level of quality standards and methods are achieved and maintained, particularly those relating to customer experience

· Direct the activities of Quality Engineers to best-support all areas of the business

Indicative Performance Measures

· Develop and maintain the Business Quality Management System to be an integral part of the successful execution of the business strategy

· Champion the improvement of customer experience

· Progression of OpEX KPI’s

· Cost of Quality across all areas of the business

· ISO9001 and other market relevant accreditations achieved

· Effective communication and reporting and cross functional working across all areas of the business

Education / Qualifications:

· Membership of a recognised Quality & CI body - CQI, LCS

· Degree level qualification, technical or manufacturing preferred

Professional Skills/ Abilities:

· Experience of globally recognised leading Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or TS1 6949

· Proven coach / teacher of quality/compliance behaviours

· Expert knowledge and experience in applying quality tools and techniques

· Conversant with a range of industrial and regulatory compliance tools and techniques e.g. PUWER, Machinery Directive etc.

· Able to lead quality improvements within cross functional teams

· Good communicator - able to articulate themselves clearly and effectively

· Presentation skills to successfully put forward proposals to management at all levels, and train staff as required

· Able to advise and act on complex quality issues - e.g. business processes, root cause analysis, document control and traceability

· Customer facing skills - able to gain the credibility with customers

Personal Qualities:

· Proactive, self-motivated and tenacious - able to drive improvements throughout the business

· Team player - able to engage others, and work constructively with them to achieve cross- functional objectives
