£8.77 per hour to start & attendance bonus

4 on 4 off shifts

The Role

A Quality Assurance Operator is required by an expanding food company to support the Quality Manager. Taking on day to day responsibility for the testing and analysing products in a controlled environment, while recording all information accurately and reporting any defect to the Supervisor in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities will include -:

  • Ensuring that all QC checks performed by the operators are in tolerance and on schedule
  • Provide quality support and guidance with trouble shooting and problem solving regarding product safety and food hygiene standards
  • Assist the laboratory function in ensuring that finished product sampling and environmental sampling is completed in compliance with internal and external requirements
  • To assist in investigation of OOS results - product or environmental - and recording of the investigation and actions
  • To monitor and report on the safety, quality and specifications of all products, ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System, and implement corrective action procedure in areas of non-compliance
  • To ensure that all testing equipment is maintained and calibrated in working condition
  • To be a member of the Internal audit team and Control of non-conforming product programs; identify the root cause of deviations and implement effective corrective actions
  • Develop, manage and maintain systems within operations to ensure product compliance with legal and customer specifications
  • To manage product release in accordance with internal and external schedules
  • Support Management with audits conducted by customers and statutory bodies
  • Evaluate trends of key quality measures, implement effective programs to encourage an error prevention and continuous improvement approach across the site
  • Support the site training program and help identify training needs
  • To assist in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and customer codes of practice

The Candidate

  • A track record in a Quality Assurance role previously
  • Knowledge of food safety legislation, HACCP, BRC is highly advantageous
  • High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Excel and the Internet
  • Working knowledge of Food and Hygiene is desirable
  • Degree or HND in Food Technology or equivalent
  • A driven individual with good communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to strict deadlines
