Quality and Compliance Manager

Kelly Scientific are working with a reputable bio-pharmaceutical company based in the Cambridgeshire area who are looking for a Quality and Compliance Manager to join their established team on a permanent basis. The main purpose of the role will be to lead and manage the company's Quality Management System and ensure that the company is compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements. 

Further Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a QMS to ensure all regulations and industry standards are met; particularly with respect to the use, storage and disposal of :- human tissues, radioactive materials and other hazardous materials
- To oversee the application and/or maintenance of the Human Tissue Act (HTA) and Research Ethics Committee approvals
- Develop and maintain a company database of COSHH forms and Risk Assessments and ensure staff are aware and adhere to them
- Develop and implement ISO 9000 compliance in Cell Line Development
- Conduct regular internal audits for compliance with legislation, regulations and ensure that CAPAs are implemented as needed
- Effectively manage the team and, through performance management systems provide guidance and support associated with both technical and personal development
- Take the lead in providing training to staff to ensure they are aware of legislation and regulations

- Life sciences degree (MSc or higher preferred)
- At least 4 years experience in a similar Quality Management and/or Compliance role - ideally within the pharmaceutical/bio-pharmaceutical/CRO industry 
- Proven record in developing and maintaining QMS and of conducting internal audits 
- Previous line management experience would be highly advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to form and maintain good working relationships
- Working experience of the Human Tissue Act is highly desirable 
- Substantial working experience within a GMP regulated environment
