QHSE Co-ordinator

Description

You will work alongside and assist the plant supervisor on a day-to-day basis to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site, to maintain a good house-keeping standard and to ensure the highest quality product is supplied to our customers.. This job is a vital part of the plant operation, and has a direct effect on the level of compliance achieved, as well as the profitability of the plant. All duties must be carried out in accordance with the current Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality Procedures.

This job is a vital part of the plant operation, and has a direct effect on the level of compliance achieved, as well as the profitability of the plant. The performance of the plant is linked to the other plants in the Area and so this job also has a bearing on the Area performance.

Key accountabilities

Daily Inspection - Carry out all checks detailed in the Maintenance Schedule and report and record all defects.

House-keeping - Ensure all plant, equipment, and general yard area maintained in a clean and tidy condition.

Mobile Plant - Carry out daily checks, report defects, operate in a safe and efficient manner.

Material Reception - Check documentation and material to verify source, type and quality before taking delivery.

Vehicle Management - Control vehicle movement to avoid congestion and collision. Maintain exclusion zone

while loading shovel in operation.

Environmental Control - Ensure dust suppression is effective in stock bay area. Assist the plant supervisor with monitoring cement delivery tankers and waste disposal operations.

Stock-taking - Assist the plant supervisor with checking and recording physical stock levels. Minimise wastage and stock losses.

Batching and Supervision - Deputise for the plant supervisor in emergencies or when relief is needed.

Profile

The successful candidate must have a good understanding of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality which is the core of our operations to comply with Nuclear Safety. They have a small team based here with a good potential for progression within the business. The candidate must be able to work well in a team showing good communications skills, a good understanding of health & safety, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, organised and whom is able to work alone and show initiative. As part of the role you will work alongside and assist the plant supervisor on a day-to-day basis to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site, to maintain a good house-keeping standard and to ensure the highest quality product is supplied to our customers..
