QC Technician, Blackpool

Rob Walker is recruiting for a Quality Control Technician to join a leading medical device company based in Blackpool. This is a contract position with an initial duration of 6 months.

The main responsibilities of this QC Technician role will be to deliver priority laboratory and factory based technical work and testing in line with the company project portfolio and company strategy.

Further duties of this QC Technician role will be:
• Ensuring that all routine testing is performed in a timely manner in line with agreed schedules
• To interface with other Departments to ensure a timely approval of products.
• To ensure that relevant documentation, in the form of procedures and specifications are followed to guarantee compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14001, FDA QSRs and the Medical Devices Directive.
• Ensuring that all routine testing is performed in a timely manner in line with agreed schedules
• Well developed organisational skills with an ability to work independently when required.
• Attention to detail and excellent time management.
• The ability to work to a deadline, to cope under pressure and react to changing requirements.
• In addition, the ability to work as part of a team to achieve results.
• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
• Ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with all regulations and laws governing business and quality operations
• To carry out chemical and physical testing of the in-process mills, powder blends and liquid blends to ensure that the quality of products is maintained.
• To carry out the chemical and physical testing of finished products to ensure that the quality of CMW products are maintained.
• To conduct in-process production inspection tasks to ensure the quality of CMW products are maintained.
• To assist raw material inspection as required ensuring the timely approval of products.
• To complete and maintain the appropriate documentation relating to the testing activities, in accordance with the necessary Regulations.
• To carry out Validation of new equipment or test methods as assigned by the Quality Control Group Leader.

As a QC Technician, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
• Minimum of relevant experience in a science based discipline, preferably Chemistry.
• Well developed organisational skills with an ability to work independently when required.
• Attention to detail and excellent time management.
• The ability to work to a deadline, to cope under pressure and react to changing requirements.
• In addition, the ability to work as part of a team to achieve results. 
• Good numerical and literacy skills
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Computer Literacy
• A BSc or equivalent in Chemistry or related subject
