JOB PURPOSE

We seek a passionate Software Quality Assurance Engineer who has potential to lead a team of QA engineers. The candidate must be well versed in Quality Assurance concepts, practices and tools, and will rely on his/ her extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Candidates must be capable of reviewing software applications objectively, work with Business Analysts and End-Users to understand requirements, and Developers to understand the impact of changes to assist debugging and enhancing IDC applications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be part of technology team and will:

  • review functional requirements to assess their impact on the software applications and formulate tests cases from them
  • Write concise, complete, well organized bug reports, test cases, and status reports
  • Participate in setup, configuration and maintenance of software test environments
  • Evaluate the application and test cases to be automated. Work with Engineers to create a library of automated tests to maximize test coverage
  • Work with supervisor's to evaluate and recommend enhancements, document QA processes and improve best testing practices
  • Provide release support during production software deployment
  • Have 'break-it' attitude and at the same time be a problem solver.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Hands-on experience with following technologies:
  • any of programming languages like Java, Python
  • MySQL and Oracle (other mainstream RDBMSs are a plus)
  • UNIX / LINUX system and writing shell scripts
  • Experience working with XML and XML schema, JSON and CSV file formats
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects at same time
  • Experience with mainstream defect tracking tools and test management tools
  • Demonstrable experience in the field of Software Quality Assurance

Desirable

B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Maths or equivalent
