QA Automation Analyst

aspire cambridge are currently recruiting for a QA Automation Analyst to join a Software house based in Ipswich, Suffolk. They require a development lead tester that can write automated test scripts within agile environment.

Key responsibilities:
• Collect testing requirements, perform detailed analysis, and produce functional testing plans
• Execution of functional testing, identifying and logging, documenting and tracking of defects found during testing
• Help the software release process by producing and/or reviewing release documentation
• Work with automation testing tools, designing and writing automation testing scripts
• Taking ownership of test process improvement initiatives and driving them through to completion and providing innovative solutions to testing problems
• Work closely with the development team, reviewing feature requirements and specification and helping to meet deadlines
• Work closely with the project managers to design tests that will ensure the releases goals are met prior to final deployment
• Work as second line support for the Customer Services team Essential skills and experience
• Full understanding of typical software development lifecycles
• Experience with manual testing, writing test plans, and reviewing test cases
• Working knowledge of best practices in testing and quality control processes
• Ability to communicate results and findings in a clear and concise way
• Proficient analytical skills with the ability to provide recommendations for process improvements
• Ability to understand and interpret complex business systems
• Ability to complete detailed assignments accurately in a timely fashion and share the responsibility for meeting team objectives
• 1-2 years Quality Control Assurance experience

Desirable skills and experience:
• ERP software experience
• Automated testing tools experienceSQL experience (building database queries, understanding database concepts)
• An ISEB Foundation in software testing, or equivalent qualification
• Ability to design test automation packs for complex testing processes that require minimal manual intervention
