Purchasing Manager - Manufacturing - Liverpool

Client Details

Our client are a manufacturer with an impressive order book. Over a period of 5 years they have delivered multiple new products to market supplying customers on a global basis. They have 3 manufacturing / assembly facilities they have received significant investment for. The head office is based in Liverpool.

Description

As purchasing manager you will:

  • Assess the supply chain and stakeholder needs across the 3 facilities, then design and deliver a strategy to make the desired improvements
  • Develop systems and processes to support the business
  • Create cost models for each of the products, highlighting opportunities (VA/VE)
  • Build strong internal relationships with Design, Production, and Sales to ensure the Supply Chain meets the needs
  • Benchmark all current suppliers and introduce measures to monitor supplier performance
  • Ensure purchasing has a presence across the Liverpool site, and the 2 other facilities

Profile

The ideal candidate will:

  • Already be a purchasing manager within an engineering led organisation
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to introduce structure, systems, and processes
  • Have had experience of working with and optimising MRP systems
  • Comfortable working with metal components and have a understanding of engineering processes (plating, machining, forming etc)

Job Offer

circa £45000 + package
