PURCHASING MANAGER

HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL ENGINEERING COMPANY

SALARY c£45,000 - £50,0000 + excellent benefits

BASED IN NORTH WALES

A world-class engineering group based in North Wales are growing at an exceptional rate and seek to appoint an exceptional PURCHASING MANAGER to join the senior management team, reporting to the Financial Director.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Conduct research to ascertain the best suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality

Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers

Carry out effective management and reporting of key supply issues

Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and maintaining good relationships

Uphold all Company procedures in respect of working, quality and health and safety

Ensure all documentation is completed fully within a timely, accurate and concise manner

Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service, keep contract files updated

Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities, give presentations about market analysis and changes

Develop the Organisations' Purchasing strategy going forward

Produce reports and statistics using computer software

Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial (and technical) factors

Delivering our business objectives to suppliers

Training and supervising the work of other members of your staff

Support continuous improvement programs within the business

Key Skills and Experience Required:

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years procurement experience ideally gained within an engineering environment

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject

Candidates should be CIPS qualified

In-depth experience of purchasing, supply management and logistics gained within a manufacturing environment is critical

Candidates must be highly professional with the necessary gravitas to communicate effectively with internal and external colleagues

Ambitious and determined to succeed in the role and improve working practices

Experience of managing staff

Should be able to demonstrate continuous success within career to date
