The Role

Our client is a well-established Engineering brand that has developed key relationships with major UK Manufacturers. In recognition of their strong brand and continued growth, we're recruiting for a Purchasing Co-Ordinator to join their vibrant procurement team.

Ideally, you'll have experience in purchasing/procurement in an engineering field with a desire to further your career. You'll become an integral part of the operation supporting the senior team. You should be able to demonstrate a natural flair to influence the best procurement of key components.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is established in this field and is looking further their career in a specialist field.

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders within the business

  • Have engineering procurement experience

  • Liaising with suppliers and negotiating rates to meet company objectives on cost, quality and lead-time.

  • Preparing enquiries, purchase orders, the optimisation of returns and best practice.

  • Managing stock levels effectively and ensure on time deliveries by communicating with suppliers.

  • Identify and implement best practice improvements to purchasing, including: cost reduction opportunities, supplier selection processes, long term agreements and internal processes.

  • Monitoring supplier inventories and supporting the finance team.

  • Providing support to other members of the Procurement and Quality team.

The Candidate

For this role you will need to:

You will have at least 2 - 3 years' experience in a Buying/Procurement role within an Engineering environment as well as:

  • Have strong commercial and negotiating skills.

  • Knowledge and experience of purchasing from EU and Non-EU countries

  • CIPs qualified, or studying toward a recognised procurement qualification (desirable).

  • Strong background in planning and forecasting, as well as stock management.

  • Analytical in nature with excellent IT skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A quick learner who can adapt to changing situations quickly.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload.

Hours

40 Hours/week. 8.30 - 5.00 Hours
