37.5 hours per week
28 days holiday including bank holidays increasing one day yearly
This is a fantastic opportunity for somone who would like a career within purchasing.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the main purpose of the Job will be to order stock items , contact suppliers and obtain delivery promises, organise replacement products, obtain written quotations, attend supplier development meetings, assist with placing orders.
Duties & responsibilities will include
Check purchase orders
Communicate delivery dates
Control supplier catalogues and literature
Place purchase orders
Create and maintain stock codes, prices and supplier details
Liaise with the Warehouse to investigate stock discrepancies.
Maintain and promote good working relationships with suppliers and other departments.
Resolve invoice price queries.
To cooperate with the company on health and safety matters and comply with the company health and safety policy.
Must be conversant with Microsoft Excel.
Experience with MRP/DRP/ SAP Business systems would be desireable.
Must be thorough, professional, hard working and able to operate using own initiative.
Will be able to remain calm under pressure and be willing work outside of their job description and apply lateral thinking when solving problems.
