Purchasing Co-ordinator

We are recruiting a Purchasing Administrator reporting to the Operations Manager for our busy client based on the outskirts of Ware. Applicants must have proven purchasing administration experience. Our client is ideally looking to recruit the successful candidate on a temporary to permanent basis, however they will also consider employing the successful candidate on a permanent contract. The permanent salary for this role is between £22,000 - £24,000 depending on experience and the hourly rate during the temp to perm period would be £9.50 - £10.00 per hour, plus holiday pay. Hours: 8.00am - 5.00 pm (Monday - Friday).

This role involves working within the procurement team and assisting with the purchasing of goods and services for resale in response to demand/special requests, maintaining sufficient stock for our customer’s needs. This will also include the purchasing of non-stock items for in-house use and overseeing artwork for production

  • Maintain suitable stock levels to cover customer demands
  • Improve buying prices
  • Manage subcontractors



  • Stock Control

  • Supplier Price Updates
  • Update Chase report
  • Resolve supplier invoices queries
  • Use of Orderwise system

Production Control

  • Artworks
  • Set up production worksheets
  • Artwork sign off


Subcontractor Management

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Procurement/Purchasing experience essential
  • Experienced in stock control
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and experienced in using internal systems/databases
